Basic Concept: it is a management group established sharing a common goal for the effective execution and coordination of the project, usually composed by project manager and members.
Group building refers to a lasting process of organizing the members of mission in certain mode with coordinative manner for the realization of set goal. It usually experiences five stages: pioneering stage, accommodation period, standardization stage, mature stage and partnership dissolution stage, which is basically synchronic with the project cycle.
It is a common mission of manager and members to build the group, during which a ease and confident environment should created to form a feeling of unified and mission among the members. The practices prove that the members socialization can promote the group building, and the deeper of the understanding of each members, the more outstanding the group will be. The manager must ensure the exchange and communication among members and create conditions for members’ socialization. Of course, members themselves also should create conditions to strengthen exchange and communication. |
